Devan Ballagh

From a very young age, Devan has been involved in all aspects of the performing arts, starting off her professional career with Drayton Entertainment’s production of “Canadian Loonie” (2002). Since then, she has appeared on stages across Canada and in the United States as a stepdancer, vocalist, and fiddle player.

In 2021, she completed Hello Broadway’s 1 year program, coached by the likes of Jessie Hooker-Bailey (Broadway: Waitress), Gilbert Bailey II (Broadway: Beetlejuice, A Bronx Tale, The Book of Mormon), Desi Oakley (Broadway: Waitress, Chicago, Wicked), Aaron Kaburick (Something Rotten, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hello Dolly). Devan is a National Ottawa Valley Stepdance Champion, and studies fiddle technique with multi-styled master fiddler Darol Anger. Currently, she studies voice lessons under the tutelage of Broadway performer Julia McLellan and takes dance classes with the Broadway Dance Centre. 

Devan has performed across the globe as a member of her family band, The Ballaghs, the internationally acclaimed group, The StepCrew, and has performed with various theatre companies including Drayton Entertainment and Victoria Playhouse Petrolia. 

Devan is the Founder and CEO of Studio 410 Productions Inc., a registered Not-For-Profit company that promotes interest and engagement in the performing arts in rural communities. They produce yearly productions with their youth musical theatre company. For the 2020/2021 season Devan wrote, alongside Paige Ballagh and Stephen Ingram, an all-original song cycle called “Not Cancelled” and produced it as a documentary-style movie musical. It focuses on coping, joy and resilience…all of the things that remain when everything else is stripped away.

Devan teaches music and performance classes at her home-studio. She is also the Founder of an online program, 410Method, a deep health transformation program that helps people establish health in all aspects of life.

Devan resides in Hanover Ontario. She performs her original music as a duo with her husband, Tyler, and regularly performs with her siblings as a trad/pop band, “The Crew”.
